David "Doc" Maynard was one of Seattle's founding fathers. In fact, he was the one who gave Seattle it's name. The name was from Chief Seattle, whom David had befriended. Aside from being an American pioneer, an ordained minister, and a negotiator with the local Native American community, Maynard had a sinister side. He was a brothel owner, a bootlegger, and a pimp. This beer is dedicated to both sides of Doc, to his gentlemen like qualities, as well as his notorious lifestyle.
